The documentary collections of the Department for Heritage Awareness are freely available to the public

The heritage documentation centre comes under the Department for Heritage Awareness.

It was based around research strategies and tools developed within the heritage inventory department. Its aim is to make all of the documentary resources gathered since the department was created in 1975 available to the wider public. It makes the study dossiers compiled by researchers available to the public, who also have access to a library containing work published by the department and by all other similar regional departments in France.

It is an invaluable tool for researchers, town planners, teaching staff, students or anyone who is simply interested in finding out more about architecture, sculpture, moveable objects or the secular and religious items that make up the riches of the heritage of the région Midi-Pyrénées and France as a whole.

Since January 2007, the scientific documentation of the Department for Heritage Awareness, as well as its maps and photographic collection, have been housed in the Conseil Régional de Midi-Pyrénées, 4 rue des bûchers, 31000 Toulouse.
